• Red Square (Dutch Square) 

       - Dutch Square is surrounded by red painted buildings. It reflects the history of Melaka, the Dutch administration (the Stadthuys, Christ Church), the British colonization (Queen Victoria’s Fountain), and the Chinese settlers (Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower in honor of a generous Chinese tycoon). The Portuguese traces remain at A Famosa. But you can see some ruins of Portuguese fortress on the bank of River Melaka across the Square.

• St. Paul’s Hill (Bukit St. Paul)

       - This is an interesting hill with history of the Portuguese and the Dutch. A few vendors selling trinkets are at the entrance. The ruins of the church are impressive and there is a sense of history and loss glory that oozes from the scene. You will find there a lot of tombstones; dating back to 1650s. This old church is very well taken care off and even the statue of St Francis Xavier as had his arm chopped off.

• Chinatown – Melaka

     - One of those places where every day you find something new and interesting. It can be another little coffee place or restaurant, perhaps a temple or boutique. Everything is within walking distance. This is one of those places where the stress just rolls off. Lovely architecture, gorgeous lighting and brilliant weekend night market make this area so special. The people are friendly. You will find products from all over the world being sold here, not just Melaka or nearby areas. It’s a shopping haven. Basically there are 4 or 5 streets that you can visit. Check the temples and try Nonya food. Bargain before you buy anything. But first learn the Art of Bargaining please. Any Malaysian will teach you and some tourists who have travelled to the Far East. You will really enjoy getting lost around the streets in the afternoon. Even though it’s really touristy the locals are helpful and nice. Lots of nice pictures to take!

• No 8 Heeren Street Heritage Centre

     - This is a small and important part of Melaka history; a fine example of a late 18th century two-storey building. This shop house was restored in response to a recommendation from the UN and it’s been done with original materials where possible. There is info to read about what and why, which is elaborated on by the man who looks after it and he is very knowledgeable. He will tell you about the street planning in the past, how the ventilation worked how the tiles stay in place and effectively channel off rainwater.

• Stadthuys

     - This 17th-century building was the seat of the Dutch administration and now houses a history museum, with the church bell that chimes it bring a calm feeling whist you discover the surrounding of Malacca premier museum.

THE SHORE SKY TOWER, MALACCA

The Shore Sky Tower is the tallest building in Malacca and has an observation deck on the 43rd floor, 163 meters above street level, providing a splendid panoramic 360 degree view of this historic city and the surrounding area. By comparison, Malacca's other tall structure, the revolving tower, Menara Taming Sari, is considerably shorter at just 110 metres high, so the views are superior at Sky Tower.

MALACCA BUS ROUTES is the best transport in Malaysia. Malacca Town bus use its green and white fleets to serve between Melaka town centre and places such as Paya Ikan, Ujong Pasir, Pokok Mangga, Malacca Zoo, Mahkota Parade and Durian Tunggal. It is the most familiar bus after Panorama Malacca

THE TRISHAW

                                                           

THE TRISHAW (rickshaw) system is mostly used by tourists around the historical tourist spots in town. In no way is it dependable for efficient transportation or fast travel. Obviously, the trishaw is the most expensive means of transportation in Malacca. But it's a good experience if you want to try it out for fun. For the price will be RM 45+ per hour per trishaw. Here, haggling is advised.

MALACCA CENTRAL

MALACCA CENTRAL is the state bus station. This is where you will arrive if you're coming from out of state. It's also a transportation hub. You'll find public buses and taxis here. All buses stop in MALACCA CENTRAL as their last stop.

KTM (KERETAPI TANAH MELAYU)

If you are in Kuala Lumpur, you can take a frequent commuter service to Tampin Station on the Batu Caves - KL Sentral - Seremban - Tampin Komuter Line

     4. MALACCA BATIK HOUSE

                    

Owned by the batik pioneer company Noor Arfa Sdn Bhd, Melaka Batik House is yet another foray in bringing the art of batik to the masses, following up the successful Noor Arfa Craft Complex in Terengganu. An exquisite art, Malaysian batik is different from Indonesian batik – it largely features large floral motifs and vibrant colours, and is usually worn during official occasions such as weddings and governmental events.




    5. JONKER STREET

                    

Jonker Street – the centre street of Chinatown – was once renowned for its antique shops. However over the years it has turned to clothing and crafts outlets as well as restaurants. The best part of Jonker Street is the night market on Fridays and Saturdays that sells everything from tasty treats to cheap keepsakes.
